  1. Chard Totten

This book is a quick and easy read, which is good for me because I don’t get much time to read books like I want to. Maddox is an interesting character, someone to like (I wouldn’t go so far as to say love) and hate at the same time. He tells it like it is and I like that. The future could very well turn out this way and may be closer than we think. I will be reading this series with anticipation.

DL Young does it again! Captivating characters and a high speed plot. Distinct personalities and dialogue (without it being annoying). Enough in the story goes how you expect to make you feel smart, and the rest catches you delightedly off guard. Can’t wait to jump into the second book!

I loved the first installment of Cyberpunk. I was fully immersed in the story, riding along with Maddox and Beatrice throughout it all; Good AI, Bad AI, Anarchy Boyz- so many things to enjoy. I can’t wait to read the next installment.

This book1 is well choreographed and written. It is simple unsophisticated stuff but it fills the vacuum left by William Gibson’s lack of productivity. The rest of the books are not as good but I read them anyway.

  5. Kindle Customer

A wonderful blend of William Gibson’s Neuromancer, blade runner, a dash of matrix; plugged into high amperage 220 volt DC. A surprise delicacy in a food court full of greasy fast food

  6. Marie Keener

I enjoyed everything about this story. The characters were engaging. The story was solid as was the world building.

  7. Dennis Calloway

What a great story and what a way to lose yourself in this world! Not only does DL do a great job weaving an exciting storyline, but he takes us on a trip to a world where drama and excitement explode around every corner…and every page! It was a quick and easy ready and I look forward to the next installment! Thumbs Up!

Really awesome fast paced cyberpunk story. Gets the series off to a great start. I can’t wait for the next installment!

  9. Jonathan Hammersley

Enough dystopia to be enjoyable but not depressing. World building is solid and characters make sense. Overall a great read from beginning to end and I’m looking forward to the next book.

I’d enjoyed the first series of books (The Dark Republic), and was excited to start this new series. I was a little un-prepared for how fast the book grabbed my attention, how much it engaged my imagination, and how quickly I was drawn to some characters and frustrated by others. The story plunged me into a futuristic world just connected enough to our own current one for me to follow how we might have gotten there. Right off the bat the story takes several twists and turns that kept me off guard; each surprise cementing my position on some characters, and also making me wonder whether I had judged others fairly. It’s definitely a wild ride. I don’t want to give anything away, but I am extremely eager for the rest of the series to be released (or at least the next one… come on Mr DL Young!!!!). Definitely 5 stars.
